That looks like Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve! Of course, I was there in the summer and yours was obviously a colder month experience. A fabulous place to trek around and shoot photos. Love living vicariously through you guys.

Few hours south of c-springs. Great Dunes National Park. I’ll get a smugmug gallery up with more pics from the story one of these days.
